In order for esports to gradually evolve into a healthy and sustainable ecosystem we need more blog posts like this, a better system in place, and better cooperation between all sides. It's the best text I read so far this year about esports, its current challenges, huge potential, and bright future. Today Riot Games published a very interesting and insightful program blog by their President of Esports John Needham. #influencermarketing #livestreaming #creators Let’s always help each other, respect each other’s time and efforts and work together on making live streaming world a better place! I don’t know the reasons, but we had several occasions when the creator asked us directly in Discord why we never offer him campaigns and we were very surprised, cause we sent like 5-6 deals for this creator in 1,5-2 months period… □Sometimes managers are just not sharing the deals with their creators at all. Such cases are making some clients really sad, cause they’re expecting the creator to go live and can be very excited (it can also potentially damage the creator’s image in the client's eyes). □Some managers are saying to the client “creator accepted the deal” (and it’s instantly starting the process of creating contract, brief, and tracking links), when in reality creator never heard anything about the campaign/deal and after real checking by the manager declines campaign completely (when everything is 100% ready on the client’s end). I’m really curious if it’s worth it for creators in the long run. I remember cases where I did 10+ different sponsorship deals with specific creators directly without any issues and when they joined the agency 0 deals happened because of crazy high counters by new agents. Sometimes it’s a part of a well-known negotiation game like “instantly ask for crazy high and then “meet in the middle”, but sometimes its just out of reality completely without any real reasons. □Seems like some managers are regularly burning opportunities for their creators with unrealistic and even shocking counters/asks. There are many amazing and very professional managers and agents in the industry (I can mention several names if you want), but, unfortunately, I’m also regularly observing the following: Managers should be flexible and adjustable and not create additional blockers. □Managers are representing creators and acting on their behalf ofc, but they should actually help both sides (creator and the client (or a company that’s representing the client) to make a deal happen if there’s mutual interest. □Ideally creators need to have visibility on all offers, deals, and business emails they’re getting (it makes everybody’s lives so much easier). □Managers should represent creator’s interests in the first, second, and third place in the best and most professional way possible, helping creators to get more and better sponsorship deals. Let’s talk about Twitch & YouTube creator’s managers and talent management in general. #esports #gaming #mouse #logitech #razer #zowie #pulsar #steelseries What’s your current and all-time favorite gaming mouse? Vaxee XE Wireless (based on other reviews, haven’t tested it personally yet) In 2019 I joined StreamElements and continued to work with Twitch and YouTube creators, but esports/gaming gear wasn’t my main focus anymore (obviously though, I was closely following the huge success of Logitech G Pro Wireless and first really great wireless gaming mice).Ģ022 was a great year for gaming mice and wireless gaming mice in particular! I’m super excited about the market today - the competition now is crazy with sooo many amazing products!Ĥ. I had a fantastic time at ZOWIE - negotiated the release of 150+ video reviews of different ZOWIE products on YouTube and Twitch (and we never paid for any reviews) we partnered with great esports LAN events and leading CS:GO teams and, I believe, the vast majority of CS:GO pro players were using ZOWIE mice back then (mostly EC and FK series). My second “love” after the legendary Microsoft 1.1a Optical was ZOWIE, especially it’s FK and EC series! I adored ZOWIE esports gear so much that I even joined ZOWIE by BenQ Corporation in 2017 and worked there for amazing 3+ years! I started with the legendary Microsoft IntelliMouse Optical 1.1a (black version with grey side buttons is still probably my favorite gaming mouse ever made), and tested like 100+ different gaming mice over the years (by Logitech G, SteelSeries, Razer Inc. Collecting and testing gaming mice is one of my oldest hobbies since like 2005! I was playing Counter-Strike 1.6 competitively really a lot back in days and was always curious about the performance of basically every new “esports” focused gaming mouse :)
